I purchased the N scale DCC  Ready Medium Coal Tender. It has a six pin male connector. Where can I purchase the correct decoder? Can I get the pin out codes for the 6 pins and hard wire a decoder?

You can use most N scale and some Z scale decoders, all you need is a multimeter to determine what decoders will work.

ABC - wrong connector.

The 6 pin connector is used to connect the loco to the tender. The decoder is to be soldered to the 7 numbered solder pads on the circuit board. The numbers on the board correspond to the NMRA numbering on an 8 pin connector. You can also see a color chart here from the instruction manual of the H16-44.

The loco harness connector was discussed here.......

There are a few solutions in that topic.

My apologies I read through it quick and must have thought you said 8 pin...anyways
1 is orange and goes to the motor, 2 is yellow and goes to the reverse light, 3 is not used, 4 is black and goes to the left power, 5 is grey and goes to the motor, 6 is white and goes to the forward light, 7 is blue and is the light common, 8 is red and is the right power. From left to right on the PCB they go 8124567 if you hold it face up with soldier points on the bottom.
Just for clarification thus far Bachmann's DCC ready N scale tenders do not have an 8 or 9-pin socket and just have the soldier points. So, the only option is to use the soldier pads as skipgear noted. Sorry for the confusion.
