Steam Loco 4-6-4

Have the above loco. Wobbles when it runs. Noticed a small rubber band on the forward most left side drive wheel, but none on the forward most right side drive wheel. Am I missing the rubberband on the right side, or should I take the rubber band off the left side.?

Dont take the band off the other side, as they are traction tyyres to help give the loco better pulling power. You need to get a new tyre for the other wheel.

The drive wheels may not be properly aligned, with the push-rod pins locations on the wheels not all carefully matched to each other on each side.  There could be wheels that have slipped on their axle, or if there are gears on more than one axle, the gears maybe meshed off a tooth or two.
