Loco questions

I have an old 2-8-0 that I want to send in for repair or replacment - I think it must be replaced - what are my options for replacement and cost??

Also - I just purchased a new 2-6-6-2 and am not happy with the way it runs - poor at slow speed, wont pull much for as big as it is and it derails at switches - none of my other locos do - do I have a bad one or are these traits typical of the 2-6-6-2?? Is this loco discontinued? if so and I send in for replacement what are my options for a replacement??
