Bachman ex command plus

Hello all I have a Bachman EZ command plus dc/ dcc controller with the power turned all the way up I am only getting 8.4 volts at the track what could be the problem? I connected a dc only power pack up and my trains ran great.thanks in advance.   Chris

Sounds like a warranty issue

out of warranty nothing smells burnt, would a bad capacitor cause low track voltage?

Well, if its out of warranty and its not working, seems to me the only thing left to do is to get a replacement. Hope this helps.
