I got just got tired Nia and Rebecca communication. This subject should wait later on the year.
I don't have problems with females. My problem is there is so many trains for a very short island. (The last time I measured the island's mainline was 150 or so more miles. I never measured the height.) Adding more characters doesn't make sense to me. I'm surprised they're not bumping bumper to bumper.

This is a great observation!  So, how many engines do they have in all?  I guess as new ones come old ones fade into the background some, but they've got so many.  We know why they're introduced, to keep the show interesting to children and more importantly to sell new toys.

I'm not sure about the show, but one of the Island of Sodor books Awdry wrote states the island has about 80 engines. It's up for debate if that includes engines that have came and went, or current stock. The Railway Series overall only has a bit over 50 engines mentioned.
