How many amps do 2-6-0s draw?

I've decided to bite the bullet and convert my mogul to DCC. After researching how, and seeing the tight clearances inside the boiler, I have my eye on a 1-amp, 1.25 amp peak Z-scale decoder. (Digitrax DZ126T)  Will that be enough to drive the motor or should I look for a 1.5 amp decoder?

Also, since my model is an older one with an incandescent headlamp, will I need to use any resistors or will the full 16v AC be tolerable?

I know that the max Voltage for a tsunami is 17V.
You will have to use a resistor when you use a LED.
I don't think you will need one when using a light bulp.
