Well, jbrock, guess I'll say I see jbrock's side of it, and say that tossing it is easier, probably cheaper. But that someone might have other considerations to make them decide the other way.

I would just like however, to draw the distinction that I would not throw out the Spectrum as I would make use of the 2 functioning Constant outputs, as stated.  Rather, I would "supplement" the need for a source of variable DC power, with a replacement unit.
