I recently bought an n-scale E60CP from a local store but it is missing a driveshaft (the thing that the motor spins around). Do any modern driveshafts work for this locomotive?

I don't know offhand, but it's going to have to be very long -

Good luck!

Looks like it may be possible to fabricate one from some styrene rod with the worm pressed on.
What does the end we don't see in the pic look like?
Can you measure and post a pic of the driveshaft you do have?

some folks have made longer drive shafts using r/c airplane fuel lines which come in different sizes&tube thickness. then slip the tubing over the coupling  &and or gear.not seeing the other end with out a picture doesn't help to properly help your problem.there are a couple of people on another forum doing this mod right now but with a steam loco.food for thought &offering a suggestion.

You might try Ebay for a junk/parts engine, just make sure it has the drive shafts. Many of the the older engines with white axle gear would split making the engine unrunable/ barely runable. Because of this you may be able to get a good deal on one of theses.

Try checking with Bachmann too. They sold E60CP's as part of their "Centennial" trainset up until at least 2008. And although it appears to be discontinued now, they might still have some parts-donor locos laying around.
