I am currently seeking information on the Phildelphia Wilmington and Baltimore Coach used as the Officers car on the Lincoln Funeral Train. While i have a book on the train, I have not found any clear cut pictures of the car, I'm more looking for the PWB paint and lettering scheme so I may complete this car to go along with my Lincoln Funeral coach.

With the winding down of my dog's funeral train, applying the last few decals now, i want to venture onto the two main cars of the Lincoln funeral train.

Thanks for any diagrams or details you can provide!

You could submit a research request to the Library of Congress. I did this during my dissertation research and they were extremely helpful. Naturally a better approach would be to journey to Washington, DC and do the research yourself. I am sorry I can't supply you with the cost of a document search (the psychology department covered any fees for a candidate).

Good luck,

There is an article in MR, Feb 1995 about the train that shows the Officer's car behind the Lincoln Car but no drawings. From the photo, the car looks about the same but only two four wheel trucks.
Look around for a back issue. MR does not have the back issue anymore.
The author of the article built a 1 inch scale model in full bunting.

By the way, the prototype had extra wide wheels for use on standard and five foot railroads of the time.

You could contact the Kalmbach Memorial Library and they can do some research but will charge you.

They only have two paid emplyess. Volunteers do help out but it will take time. I did get some information this way some years ago.
