Have 2 spectrum 2-10-2's.Both pull fine on flat but poor on grades.Any way to add weight?

Hi DT,
A few questions:
How steep is the grade?
How many cars are you trying to pull?
Are the locos stalling (wheels spinning) or just very slow on grades?

I've never added weight to a loco, others will probably comment on ways to do it. My concern is that you not over weight to the point where the drivers can't slip at stall.  A "full stall", where the loco stops and the drivers can't slip/spin is bad for the motor and drive mechanism.

If you look at the way the Bachmann engines are built, its hard to put in a light bulb let alone add more weight. There is just no room.
