Bachmann Thunder Valley - EMDGP40 Diesel locomotive AWD & operating headlite

Hi!

Brand new set purchased week b4 Christmas.

1. The transformer, when plugged in, the red light stays on to indicate it is on and you cannot shut the transformer off without unplugging it.

The locomotive initially started running real slow and now it's screeching real loud - sounds like a bad bearing sound.  I have no problem running my first set the Yard Boss  on the same track just to make sure there was no track problem.

I'd appreciate suggested solutions to this problem ! Thanks in advance for your assistance!
