DCC EZ Command power plug?

I don't mean to ask a dumb question here! Should you unplug   your power cord from the wall outlet when not running your trains for long periods of time? Will the plug get hot and be a fire hazard like the old Bachmann  black box red control knob power packs sold in train sets 30 years ago?

I do not have that DCC system. I have the NCE Power Cab with a similar wall wart. t pull the wall wart. That way nothing has power to it.

Some people say that it's a good idea to unplug anything that you aren't using that way there is no possibility of a fire from it.  I know that's not practical because I would always be bending down behind couches and chairs unplugging TV's and lights and things. I still try to do that with things that are easily accessible like coffee pot and toaster that plug into the wall. I've heard that things use a little bit of current just being plugged in whether they are "on" or not. It might save me a wee bit on the electric bill.

Thank you guys!  I bought a 4X8 layout little over a year ago and was running DC using my old Bachmann power pack from a train set I bought back in 1989!  I unplug it after every  operation session. Then last summer I bought a used MRC power pack and that had an on off switch! I loved that about the MRC! Now I'm running Bachmann EZ Command DCC which I love! The only thing I wish it had was and on off switch! I saw one in a You Tube video that guy had in Europe I believe that had on off switch on the bottom of the EZ Command controller! I think I'm going to get a surge protector with on and off switch and mount it to my layout facia and plug my EZ Command into that!
