Pieces and Parts Question

I bought a set of Bachmann G scale track (not brass) that has a TON of small plastic pieces and parts that look like connectors and other things for the tracks. Any idea what these are supposed to be used for?

Therein lies my problem...for some reason that did not come with the set. Any ideas where I could get one online? THANKS!
