Dcc power problems

I have a DCC set where for some reason unknown to me, the engines started not responding to the controller.  The controller does still operate the turnouts fine, so it seems to be a problem with the engines themselves.  (we have 2 that came as part of a set).  Everything was working fine, and now it isn't.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
