For me, if that proves to be expensive, I'd at least like to see them update Thomas, Percy, and James' faces. If Diesel was able to get a new face as a new model from a decade ago, then there's no reason they can't do the same with at least the first 3 engines ever released for Bachmann... By this point, from Gordon & Henry onwards, they at least got slightly more accurate faces to their TV series versions, whereas the First 3's facial designs are from the promos released in the early 2000's. So IF they have the time & resources to be able to change up the faces at least on those models (and again, Diesel being the main reason I'm even saying any of this), then perhaps that'll be a change for the better especially Percy, the worst offender of them all. Plus by this point in time, the synergy of the newer products released these days have CGI faces and seeing engines/characters released from 2002 Thomas being alongside 2024 Rebecca models is starting to feel very awkwardly outdated... Large Scale and N Scale even incorporates the CGI faces into their characters, so again, at some point, if that's what Bachmann is willing to do, then I'd say go for it...!

It's too bad Shapeways went under.

The March Trainworld stream should have some exciting reveal. Really hoping for a new unpainted sample of something previously announced. Hope Bachmann's Facebook could tease something soon.
My wishlist for HO Scale: Stepney, BoCo, Fernando, Norman, Den, Dart, Porter, Samson, Timothy, Whiff, Hiro, Winston, and Green Salty.
My wishlist for N Scale: Edward, Spencer, Flying Scotsman, Duck, Oliver, Mavis, Sidney, 'Arry and Bert.

I saw bachmann's live stream on thier youtube channel. and they shared a update on the upcoming china clay wagons. they're supposed to be a call back to the railway series. (honestly this is a good move to put lettering on the wagons than just plan red and a nice way to honor the 80th anniversary). one thing I really wish they'd do is update the ho scale henrietta with the face. (I wrote a post asking if they would ever do the go version with the face since the new n scale version of her has the face). as I shared I want to buy toby (I feel of the main 7 engines he's underappreciated). and everyone knows that you can't buy him without henrietta. (I would like that they would do henrietta with the face for the ho line). the n scale versions of the two of them i'm really leaning on. (i don't do the n scale line but toby and henrietta just really are leaning me towards the line and diesel too. really can't wait to see how diesel wil turn out like). I guess we'll just see when the nmra announcements come later this year.

Given that they did indeed base the China Clay Wagons on the Railway Series illustrations, maybe in future they WOULD be willing to recolor Bachmann 58807 Donald and 58808 Douglas into Blue Donald and Blue Douglas. Bachmann really respects the Thomas Fans, and they have surprised us in the last few years, with the Toby's Museum Coaches being made because of a fan's artwork, and now both the 80th Anniversary Railway Series set and the Railway Series China Clay wagons.

Once again do want to state, the clay wagons are also in learning curve TWR, which we know have been sent to Bachmann for reference before. While did make it more similar to the illustration, it's still in a different category then something like RWS Donald, Douglas, Skarloey, Toby, etc. It doesn't set a precedent just yet, neither does the set as they said on stream even though Thomas was their idea it's design and the trucks came from references sent by Mattel. The specific wording in NMM also makes it clear this was not the original announcement plan, they just spruced it up to boost its sales which was definitely the right call I think.

We haven't got anything yet that isn't taken directly from refs supplied by Mattel. Doesn't hurt to keep suggesting it but I imagine it is in the same category as the model only characters, just not feasible rn.

I also just started watching the NMM stream and they talk about the face suggestions, and how they'll look into it. They mention both the possibility of updating the original 3 and also separate sale face packs. Would love to see if that goes anywhere

it would be a no brainer purchase for me. give me all the versions based on RWS or model series.

Looks like the March Trainworld stream isn't happening this week. Either it's on a different day like last month, or it's not until next week.

It's still anyone's guess what the big reveal could be. Unpainted sample of HO Scale Bulgy, Narrow Gauge Gunpowder Wagon, N Scale Diesel/Paxton or Express Coaches. We may see HO Scale Stanley and Salty packaged, though it might be too soon for that.

We have a lot of samples they have yet to show off yet on stream that we know are there
•RWS Thomas set
•Sir Hayden
•open coach
•Finalized Stanley
•gondolas

I do think the n scale express coaches will be shown off very soon as we have known they have been in tooling for a while .

DustyMarie53!

In regards to those samples.

The RWS Thomas at new york toy fair was very rough, just sharpied over to showcase the potential changes. it is not a traditional sample. So they probably won't show it off until it's finalized. The rolling stock is done but they probably want to wait to show it off as a full package

Same with the open carriage, the one in the catalog is digitally altered and they are probably waiting to show it off fully painted now that it's been advertised as such, but may be wrong

The gondolas were shown on the last stream. I thought painted Stanley was shown off before as well already?

So of those it's just Sir Hayden I'd expect to see in the next stream

TRAINSROCK!

I'm hoping they show salty all set for shipping. (really been waiting a long time for him).

I did buy the original salty after he was disconnected. than I got rid of him in 2019.

(at that time I thought if I was going to collect the models of the range I wanted to go for the characters of the first 4 seasons and the ones introduced by andrew brenner).

but I am going to get the new version of salty. (I mentioned in the future suggestions fourm that he was always my favorite of the post season 4 characters).

I waited long enough I had bought the live lobster van and the two plank wagans with the brendom bay crates (obviously they're disconnected now I was going to wait till he was released but i thought i'd better buy them while they were still available just wanted to put some rolling stock with salty). and also the sodor salt van the fruits and vegetables van the mr jollys chocolate factory van and both the original blue ventilated and the brendom bay ventilated box can. (just a consist salty would pull at the docks of random products). so I hope he's ready for shipping.

I also hope for samples of bulgy. (I don't have any of the road vehicles as I mostly collect the engines and rolling stock). but bulgy is the one vehicle I'm the most interested in buying. (of course as I've seen some say this would make season 3 the second season after season 1 of characters bachmann has done). that includes oliver toad mavis and now bully. (not counting the city of turro and the appearance of the flying Scotsman).

and I kind of hope for an update with the sodor china clay wagons. (just really excited bill and ben got a piece of rolling stock). and that the wagons are based how they looked like in the railway series.

(I kind of would like to see if they could do more rolling stock base off the railway series).

the one I really thought of is Isabel the auto coach. (she never was in the show but in the books with oliver and toad). she's actually my no. 1 character of the railway series that didn't appear in the show. (originally the aresldale engines were no. 1 but they would finally appear 10 years ago).

I don't know why I just wish Isabel was in the show with oliver and toad. (I don't know if they'll ever do railway series characters but it's just a way I thought of to expand the range with adding rws characters with the ones from the show).

but I guess we'll see.

New Model Monday was yesterday and with it comes some Thomas news. Nothing too major

Sir Hayden sample was shown off, developed alongside Sir Handel. No real surprise there.

No shipment estimate for the human figures, expecting that news soon

Stanley is expected in July.

The thomas at NY toy fair was a hand "painted" sample for show only. Which the people who went to the show already relayed. Friend of mine is the one who took the pictures circulating in fact, and another friend is the one who got the news regarding the new Thomas assortments for the mattel stuff.

Thomas tuesday next week, maybe on monday, they said there would be something special. Unclear what (this does not necessarily equal a product from Bachmann themselves either.)

I think that is everything they said on the stream.

So the March Trainworld stream will be on Monday the 17th, which happens to be St. Patrick's Day. It's supposed to be a good one. We may get good looks at many unseen product samples. I'm hoping for unpainted samples of N Scale Diesel/Paxton and Express Coaches.

I have a feeling this next stream is being hyped up so much because there might be a very special guest. On the New Model Monday stream, Matt said it will be "one to remember" and Christian alluded to last month that it will be "a big one." As far as I know, no guest has been announced yet.

So, hear me out. I predict this month's guest will be Ian McCue.

He certainly would make it a very BIG stream, and one to remember for sure. We recently saw him sit down with the Train Sim World team to talk about the new Thomas addition, so I don't it's too far fetched to think he wouldn't sit with fans for an hour and a half to discuss Thomas during this 80th Anniversary year.
