I've disassembled many a train but this might be a 1st of a GG-1 if necessary. Just thought I'd put it out there and ask beforehand. Thanks for both suggestions.

My list is basically the similar with a possible reintroduction of Arry and Bert in HO, but if they opt to only announce rolling stock this summer then I wouldn't be surprised.

For N scale I'm expecting Henry like everyone else, but I'm kind of leaning towards no new engine in N this summer since Gordon and Emily won't be out til the end of the year.  I'd be more willing to bet on N scale Henry and Edward both getting announced early next year for the anniversary.

I'm sure we'll get some N scale rolling  stock this summer, but I'm hoping they'll do the original coal wagon with load and the blue and red open wagons first before doing the wagons with decals that you mentioned earlier.  A brake van would be nice too in N scale too but otherwise that's about it.

I just looked at my heavyweight coach, item 13708.  I have two of these coaches and two of the combines.  Bought all of them maybe around five or six years ago and they were new .  I was surprised to see I looked today that the trucks appear to still be die cast zinc alloy. I did not expect that.

Being able to disassemble stuff is an integral part of model railroading.

So I'm guessing that I'll have to partially disassemble the GG-1 engine to get to that speaker wire and disconnect it to mute sounds?

HO / Bachmann DC/DCC Sound Value PR...
Last post by Mham0359 - July 25, 2024, 01:17:22 PM
I am running this Bachmann GG-1 #4935 Engine strictly on DC and wish to turn OFF the Sound coming from the engine. Is this possible without taking the engine apart to get to the internal workings of the engine? I am using an old DC ONLY Railpower 1370 Controller/Transformer.

Tbh realistically here are some figure ideas I had .

Sodor brass band

Sodor VIP - Duke ,duchess, earl ,mayor, Alica botti , lord callan

Sodor workers - miss Jenny , dock manager , Tom tipper ,Cyril the fogmen , the foremen ,  Jem Cole , hand keeper Jack

Other pack - Alfred , Alfred's wife , little Thomas , fuzzy the dog , Mr.Bubbles , Ruth the inventor

Passengers - thin clergymen , fat clergymen , the grumpy passenger , bird watcher , the lady  with the large hat

Another idea is a first responders pack
SSRC people , and police officers maybe some people for them to save or stop like the climbers or sailor John , baz or Bernie

Maybe another passenger pack
Containing the welsh bird watcher , the lady in the pink skirt , the puppet show entertainers , and chef (maybe Mr.jolly if a render of him was made  as he has had some merch of him made )

General Discussion / Re: DC - DCC Ready Locomotives
Last post by Len - July 24, 2024, 05:45:35 PM
If your existing layout uses blocks, all you have to do to convert it to DCC have some DCC equiped locos, turn all the blocks, except any where you want to store DC locos, to "On" and connect the DCC system of your choice. If you have not already programed the DCC loco addresses on a seperate track, put them on the mainline one at a time and set their addresses. Once that's done, put them on the track, select a loco, and start operating. You can even put a DPDT toggle switch between the DC power supply and DCC system to switch back and forth when you want to operate the DC locos.

Personally, I use the NEC Power Cab because the add-on throttle is the same as the original, which cut down the learning curve for my grankids. The Zephyr is also a nice starter system, but the button layout on add-on throttles is not the same as the base unit.
