Thomas & Friends / Re: Question about replacing face
October 11, 2015, 08:48:04 PM
Hi there, glad you've taken an interest!

Yes, Thomas' face is wooden railway, as are a few others. Many I had to retrieve from different ranges, and I can list them if you'd like. :)

Unfortunately, I did have to buy the whole train. However, they aren't too expensive on ebay if you look around. I also collected them over a period of a few months, so the prices weren't overwhelming. :)

If you are preparing to do this, make sure you have means to remove the faces, they're not all easy! I use a Dremel tool with a metal-cutting disc.

Hope this helps!

Thomas & Friends / HO Scale Bachmann Thomas Snowplow
September 26, 2015, 11:25:37 AM
Hi, I've been waiting for months for the HO scale Thomas Snowplow to be restocked on the parts section of the site, but it's always been sold out. Does anyone know why this is? I'm in need of one of these for an upcoming video project.

Thanks,

-Caleb

This is a good idea, but why is Bachmann making this? Surely Take N' Play or Wooden Railway is more suited to this type of product?

Thomas & Friends / Re: CGI Character Thread

I think Hiro would not only sell as a good Thomas & Friends character, but from a modelers standpoint, all HO/OO D51's are extremely expensive and fairly rare. There is definitely a demand for an HO/OO model of his class, and I'm sure he'd sell extremely well. :) Plus I love him as a character, and he appears fairly frequently in the newer series.

Thomas & Friends / Re: Bachmann Oliver thread!

I really don't see the running plate as an issue, it's a simple paint job for whatever livery you'd like.

It'd be interesting to see if Bachmann makes a 'hybrid' of sorts, like using model Oliver's scale, but having the details from the CGI counterpart.

Just throwing ideas. :P

I think they will be produced with the chassis of Annie and Clarabel, the body of Emily's coaches (with the custom brake end) and a new roof.
Interesting theory. I'm fairly sure the chassis will be the same at least, perhaps with a hook though on the buffer beam. (Nice to see you posting as well! Haven't heard from you in a while!)

Were there any pictures of any of the models?

I can't seem to find a LS James to buy anywhere on the internet, and he is the only sold out engine on the LS Thomas products page. But he has been sold out for quite a long time....is something up?

My Bill and Ben aren't very smooth, but they run fine for me. But my Gordon is giving me trouble though...sometimes he works and sometimes he doesn't. He won't run smoothly at all. I've only owned him for two years. :/

I would buy them all, and use them for different things. If they were characters with character, I would keep them that way. With others like Charlie, I would dull down his annoying-ness, and give him some flesh to his character. I actually think Charlie is very interesting. (For my series, if you couldn't tell yet. :P )
