:) I asked this same question on this forum a few weeks ago and received an answer they 2nd release was arriving. Now I can no longer find my post or the replies......
I am also not able to find these engines for sale by any of the brick and mortar stores who also have online sites.

Are the second run of the 4-6-0 engines available?  I have not found any listed by several of the shops that offer on-line sale.  The on line dealer that does list them has them as "reserve."
Thank you.

N / Re: N Scale Steam

:) This is very refreshing to me to find all these post that reflect an interest in n-scale steam.  I attempt to model the steam era and also like B&O.  I am not a rivet counter, so had no qualms about having the Kato GS-4 painted in a simple B&O blue scheme.

I am still awaiting the 4-6-0 which has been discussed at length here and on the Atlas forum to come out in the second release and would be delighted it the short USRA tender was standard on it.

Tony (SkipGear), Thanks you for sharing your suggestions and photos.  I am still very interested in this engine which I had been eagerly awaiting.

I am not satisfied if it is necessary to tweak an engine to get it to run properly.  I do not think that should be expected of any purchaser of any product.  Accepting defects lowers the bar for the manufacturers in my opinion.

At age 71 years and with cataract surgery on both eyes in December 2010, I am not adept at soldering or handling many of the small parts.

Now I eagerly await the second release of this engine with hopes problems found in the first run will be corrected and perhaps a USRA short tender used as replacement for the one in the first run. :)

I have been following the comments on this locomotive on another forum; it is now "13 pages long."  One of the primary contributers is the person who uses the spookshow pseudonym.  I was very eager for this engine to be released, however now after reading all of the problems that individuals on that forum have identified, I am very skeptical about buying one.

 ???
I am puzzled by the lack of comment from the Bachmann people on this engine, and also puzzled that I have not seen any ads for it online or by online e-tailers.

:)Well, I unpacked by AF Pacific and set up a loop of track; been reliving my childhood when I got the set for Christmas about 60 years ago.
I think it is about 1951 vintage.

N / Re: ARE THERE SMOKING N SCALE TRAINS?
December 13, 2010, 10:31:11 AM
Rowa produced a 2-8-8-2 smoking engine.  I purchased one about 1974-75. I was one of my favorite engines and ran well also pulled better than the version with no smoke and headlight because of the extra weight.
The smoke emission was very good and continuous on mine.  It was messy adding the liquid and the result was the liquid degraded the plastic body shell, made it brittle, friable.

The Seuth smoke liquid was recommended, suspect the smoke unit was from them.
Mine is need of repair.

N / Re: Using pink foam insallation

:) Yes, I can recommend the use of extruded polystyrene over a plywood base for an n-scale layout.  I used the 2" thick material.

The technique I used for the river was the cut the foam before I fixed it to the plywood.  Thus I could simply move the two sections of foam apart for the width of the stream I wanted to gain that length to the layout.
I used spackling compound on the river banks to blend it with the plywood surface.

 :)
I have been awaiting further word on the arrival of this locomotive and also am especially curious since 10 November 2010 was the date posted previously.
Like the other person, I have noticed the engine for reserve at BLW.

What is the current ETA?
