Need to know how to use the "28 Speed steps". I have an HO 2-8-0 loco - DCC equipped and it does not work.

Which couplers should I use? What are the steps in changing from Rapido to Knuckle

Same problem on straight track, the engine will come to a complete halt, if I give it a little push will takeoff and run in a jerky motion a all speeds.

First one ran jerky, sent back and was replaced with a new engine. Second one actually runs worse. I have used the oil sent to me with my replacement engine and have cleaned both the track and pickup wheels. Other engines work just fine, any remedies, fixes or suggestions? Thanks!!

Problem locomotive at slow speeds runs jerky and not smooth.

This is the second N scale Northern 4-8-4 steam locomotive, the first I sent back to Bachmann and they replaced it with a new locomotive and some light oil. The second one, I have applied the oil to the external linkage which has helped.

Is this an inherent problem with N scale steam locomotives or is there anything else I could try?
