Yes and no

Yes you can mix wired turnoouts in with the DCC but you cannot power them from the DCC controller.

Use a separate power source (The AC terminals from an old HO or N train-set  power pack will do). Having the turnouts separately powered also makes it easier as your layout grows to keep track of what you have thrown You could even build a panel with a track diagram.

TrainWorld tends to offer discounts every few weeks and sometimes free shipping on orders over $100 so I usually save up my purchases from them.

On My layout I use Matchbox Semi Trailers, Garbage trucks, cement mixers and other assorted Trucks or construction equiptment but not the cars they are just too big.  Some of the Hess Mini trucks work as well.

It depends I use 1/64 scale Semi Trucks on my layout but the cars are way too big.

At the club in question, before my time  they ripped out all the steam facilities and basically told the steam guys their engines weren't welcome any more.

It's just as well.  One guy seemed to be the dictator there.  Maybe all clubs have one.

That was one of the reasons I didn't join a local club and tye club I would like to join you s not feasible until I retire."

Might just be the angle but that last car looks like the right headlight is out.  Don't want a ticket now  :)

I thought the 4 door version of the Galaxy was the Custom 500 which my parents and later my older brother owed for years.

Doesn't that point to a need for more weight also?

I would go with another brand of turnouts such as Atlas.  You might have to use cork roadbed underneath as a shim.  You can use caboose industry ground throws for levers.

My bad if the adapter track is hollow then no you don't have to remove the tab.  You would if you were connecting ez track to say flex track.

I ike your staple idea.

Len,

Yes as I recall you have to remove the plastic tab from the EZ track and join the transition piece with regular rail joiners.  It would also work with conventional track though you woul need roadbed underneath.

I have had similar issues with people giving me inappropriate train gifts so now I just order and let them wrap.  Or let them order something such as a sweat shirt that won't be on the layout.
