I see there is a 14 pc graduated HO EZ track Pier Set numbered 44471, then i see another Pier Set numbered 44595 and this one is a 18pc set.
Both are the Graduated over/under sets, any clue what the difference is ? (and don't say 4 pcs)

Thanks,
david

HO / CSX 3 and 4 Bay HO Hoppers...any 6 packs made
December 24, 2010, 08:29:56 PM
I'm new, and am interested in modeling CSX coaling operations. I've searched and have only come up with Coal Porters, The kind used with rotary dumpers. I have Steel Mills near me and their yard is always loaded with mostly 3 &4 bay hoppers.  Some have high sides and are marked "Coke Express". They too are generally 3 or 4 bay hoppers.
I see Walthers and others offer multible 6 car sets, but they are all the coal porter version.
Has / does Bachmann offer 6 car sets in the 3 or 4 bay hopper(CSX)?
Black hopper with the yellow lettering is what I'm after.
Any Ideas?

Thanks,
David

HO / Re: EZ Command Walk around question
July 28, 2010, 06:38:16 PM
Well, I had a few minutes to play around with it this evening. No sense going into great detail about what I've expiernced without asking a few basic questions first.

1. Using an EZ Walk around, are you supposed to be able to keep the same address active(lets say 6) while you unplug and re-plug the walk around into another connector panel while following your train?

I have the feeling that after watching the Bachmann EZ Command video, the answer is "no", after plugging back into another connector panel, , to aquire control of the engine, the proper address button must be pressed. While watching the video, I paid particular attention in watching the guy in the demonstration, after plugging back in, he did reach down and press a button.
Well, needless to say, I'm a bit disapointed. Several times I've plugged back in(using address 6), throttled up only to find that an engine in the yard took off(because it defaulted to address 3). Guess I'll just have to get use to addressing the engine each time we move from connector to connector.

I'm at work right now, when I get home I'll fiddle with it some more to answer some of your questions.

HO / EZ Command Walk around question
July 27, 2010, 01:16:50 AM
I'm using EZ Command with 4 connector panels around the board, and of course a Walk around companion.
Initially everything was fine. Here is what is happening,  I have an engine running along(on address 6), I unplug the walk around controller(address 6 is lit up), plug it back into another connector panel and it goes right to address 3. Does it every time now. If I'm controlling an engine on address 6, un plug and re-plug , it should remain on address 6 shouldn't it?
What am I doing wrong? (if I am). It's less than a year old (I'm pretty sure). It worked fine when I first operated it. It's on a simple 5 x 9 board with several sidings, and there are about 6 diesels that are on(w/sound) a siding. 4 are Atlas Gold, a BLI, and an MTH.
Any help would be appreciated
Sincerely,
David

HO / Can't assign new addresses, any help?
June 02, 2010, 02:48:24 AM
Got my EZ Command out (was put away last fall). I had four engines assigned 1-4 addresses, had no issues doing it (last fall). Now everything operates only on address three. tried to assign new address's, no go. Have the engine running in forward, pressing the #3 and stop at the same time, release it and the light flashes but doesnt seem to flash "quickly" as the manual states. I continue and press #4, (engine does not move), light doesn't change the flash, I press stop and the engine continues in #3.  Any suggestions?
Thanks,
David

Thank you.
I have several Bachmann diesels, GP35 #60704, SD40 Spectrum #82717, and two from a starter set (Digital Commander), all are "DCC On Board" from the factory. I'm using EZ Command, can I install sound in these engines?
I'm a newbie, with no knowledge of whose sounds are better than another. What manufacturer would you reccommend? Are they easy to install? Plug and play or is there some modifications to do?

I see a whole bunch of Steam Locos with DCC and sound but it seems like Deisels are hard to find with DCC and Sound. Are they not produced, no demand ?
I'm not the "tinkering " type. I need to buy Deisels with factory installed DCC and Sound. Does Bachmann make such a thing? Future plans?

Thanks,
David
