I have several Lionel 221 Dreyfuss shells and would like to have new
engine mechanisms -- Williams now makes the Girls train engine (akin
to Lionel's 2047 engine) with a 2-6-4 wheel arrangement that might be compatible with Lionel's 221 engine.  Does anyone know the answer?

No one makes the Lionel postwar prairie engines.  I would like to see the 221 steam engine made in 1947 now with a can motor.  The original is just too loud and has to be run too fast.
