Williams by Bachmann / Re: Williams J Class
December 27, 2011, 07:20:11 PM
I have an o27 dogbone on part of my layout(no turnouts) the J class and my berkshires run fine. they look strange on the curved ends, however they run just fine. the semi scale hudson actually runs better on o27 than o31.

I bought the Keystone Express earlier this year from Mariostrains.com.  great running & value for money. I would buy a nyc version as soon as it became available. also a wabash version.

Williams by Bachmann / sd90 upgrades
December 03, 2011, 07:20:47 PM
just received  three new locos from Mariostrains.com. a Milwaukee Road NW2, and two SD90s. a KCS and UP Heritage unit . the UP unit has the upgraded front windows same as the KCS unit. the window upgrades make already good looking units even better. can we hope that scale handrails are the next upgrade? the UP unit is hard at work on the layout tonight. sorry I do not have a digital camera, all my hobby money goes on trains!

I would like some add on cars as well. just got the set from mariostrains.com it is a stunning good looking set. runs great and good value. the diesel has a diecast frame and can pull a fifteen car train with ease. how about a nyc or mp version?

My wife just gave me a Blue Ridge Hauler set from mariostrains.com as an aniversary gift. I wish I had a digital camera to show just how nice this set is. the loco runs great and the freight cars are painted great. good work on this one Bachmann.

and from the other side of the coin. a big THANK YOU for leaving the F7s alone. some new road names as mentioned earler would be nice. as an aside note. I just bought another WBB from Mariostrains.com. this time a CN geep. it arrived while we had house guests. I gave it a quick lube job and put it on the layout pulling ten lighted coaches. the guests were amazed that it ran for the next six hours non-stop. that is why I have 29 WBB locos now.

if you don't like them, don't buy them. we like them, bought multiple units and will buy more. for those looking for more detail, maybe atlas or mth is the answer.

I have the lackawanna and b&o f7s. I like them better than the scale rubbish some companys put out. Please Bachmann leave them the way they are! I have 28 williams/wbb locos. I buy them because they run and run. the scale details are a secondary concern.

the Mallard would be a good choice. I have seven of the A4 class in 'oo' scale. use a hudson chassis with a two wheel trailing truck. the frame off a 2046 tender with differant wheels. only thing left is the body moldings. I would buy them even if WBB made the body out of plastic, just to get them in 'O' at WBB prices and quality.

there is a post on the OGR forum asking for Bachmann to make O guage Brittish equipment. I have brought this up from time to time, as has Dave Allen. the quality of Bachmann's 'OO' guage Brittish trains is the best in the market. put a Brittish outline body on a WBB chassis and you would have a sales hit! even Lionel and MTH are on the band wagon. so PLEASE Bachmann. 'O' guage Brittish on a WBB chassis.

I would like to see a 3-rail dcc system. I use Bachmann's system with my oo/ho trains. for me it works much better than tmcc or dcs. plus I can use an atlas or other dcc loco with the system as well. I already run my 3-rail trains on dc power with mrc tech 4 transfomers. so dcc for 3-rail is a possibility given the tech knowledge Bachmann has.

Did it again. Friday night a box from mariostrains.com was on the kitchen table when I got home. got my third berkshire. Nickel Plate Road this time. watching those long siderods slowly move as it pulled six passenger cars on to the main was pure joy. the value for money just cannot be beat. and the wonderfull sound of silence!

I have three berks and two of the semi-scale hudsons. all are great running units. have often thought of  a  scale hudson. when I look at the price I end up buying another berk!
