If I remember right, both came in the set. It's been a while. 

One thing that may surprise you is the "Size" of this locomotive vs. the Thomas and Friends from Bachmann.  I did have a good many comparo shots on a server that recently crashed-sorry.  I'm sure you understand the SG vs. NG difference in both models.

Thomas is a good deal larger-all around than the 10-Wheeler, though the 10-Wheeler is a heavier locomotive.  Thomas will have no problems pulling the Big Hauler cars, but it may look silly to some.

The T&F cars are taller too than the Big Hauler stock. 

That said, my 10-wheeler is a bullet-proof runner, hard to go wrong with one of those!  maybe why they've been making them for years and years!

Shop around the net dealers, there are some good deals to be found on the sets!

Peter, I viewed the photos after being directed to the Facebook posting to see the new loco...and as backwards as I may be, I can't for the life of me understand why those photos weren't posted on this site as well? Must I remind the powers that be; not everyone in the hobby is a member of FB?

I doubt the Lyn has the AmesSuperSocket (or any variant). It doesn't appear to share the same tender as the Forney and Climax, add that to the really low offered price and I'm led to believe it's hollow on the inside.

Lots of questions concering my favorite prototype loco:

I'm led to assume the sound is by Sierra...the Steam Generator is the same as the Soundtraxx I added to my Batt/RC installed Annie a few years ago. 

Will this sound system operate like the one formerly offered in the 3 Truck Shay? 

Is it the same technology as offered in the 3T Shay? If not, how does it differ?

I'd also assume one couldn't add analog RC and control the installed sound?

Chuff timing is again optical, is there a mechanical timing option?

Excellent Question Len!  I've yet to have any real success with them.  I wonder why Knuckle Couplers weren't tossed in, since that appears to be the most simple fix for the "problem"...

spot-on...not "his line" of products, but the only product line of control he (Dave) carries...Had my LGB #50 out this am pushing ice/snow on the line while my son controlled with his very own TX-24 

Another Nod for Dave at NWRCS, a gentleman and scholar!  I'd also highly recommend his product line of RCS remote control-there are many on this board, us included, that use this line with great results!...He can install for you or sell you all you would need (and then some!)
