With that in mind, it's really surprising not many were drawn to the locomotive. I think it was the body design. Trust me, I'll take a nice looking F unit over a BL-2 any day.

It could related to the features and quality of the locomotive. Lets see, one (GP40) has only 8-wheel drive, the other (GP35) has 8-wheel drive and a 5 pole screw wound motor. I think it's the motor. The 5 pole screw wound motor is probably better than the standard motor inside the GP40. Either way, your still getting a good locomotive.
