And Thomas is based on a real loco, with a face added.

Well its on their web site, I can only presume that either they do not want to sell very many, or B'mann were concerned about direct competition with the normal product line.

Hi Stan, I have been reading your posts on the Hybrid system, and or me it seems to offer everything I want, so I am giving it a trial, parts ordered!

I do not thing thee is much difference between you and Dave, you both do not like relying on track for power distribution.

I am somewhat concerned about track pricing, you can still get AMS at just over $2ft for Code 250, Aristocraft will be twice that much and who knows when it will be in, SS 330 is even more. 250 also looks better but that is subjective.

We do have Deer around, but I think that may be a problem for both codes.

Interesting about the colour issue, real track does not look like SS or Brass for that matter, but all those years of seeing model track in NS make SS look more normal.

I would have thought the Muni color was very close. I have been to the Tram museum in CA and am familiar with GWR colours as well.

The extra sunshine in CA may well have bleached them out a bit!

Just want to make sure I have this right, I have a NCE Powercab for HO.

I could add to my battery powered LS a Gold Maxi, use the Powercab to control the loco and any additional functions, and batteries to supply the power.

Quite happy to be able to have a "power area/siding/track segment, to charge up batteries between usage, I very rairly run for more than 30 minutes at a time anyway.

My reading of the current market is that the Sierra as it currently exists will not have much opportunity going forward. Should be much better offerings at lower price points, just look at the smaller scales.

Sierra 2 or whatever is another issue.

I think you may have trouble here, most Americans do not realise Football is played with a round ball, Cricket could be well outside the frame.

Not to sure what percentage of the US population is within an easy journey of a decent LS Retailer, must be very small.
