Thanks for the great feedback Tom.  Well appreciated.

I pretty well figure that I will be working with DCC on my inner loop where these beautiful Bachman Shays will live (logging line) and I will reserve the outer loop as my mainline which will feature the advantages of DCS.

Best of both world.

Thanks

Thanks Tom, looking at trying to install DCS on this Shay type.

Can be done however DCC looks tempting but I would need to run electrically independant inner an outer loops...

MTH on outer mainline... the DCC Shay logging on the inner spurs etc..

Hi there.

Well I'm looking at your model # 82697  55 ton shay and am asking if there are flywheels on the motor of this unit?

Thanks

A few questions:

What would be the minimum "comfortable" track diameter for this style of loco?

Can I put third party sound into the tender?  ie) Phoenix.

Thanks

Yes, Art Knapp.  Per his website he is very much into big boy trains and I'm sure that the trip worth it.  Just need to fill the car with train buffs for the trip.

I will need to contact them to see how good their service dept is.

Thanks for the feedback.

Thanks Don... St Albert eh?

Ditto:  780-458-1620

I will call.  Seems to be a shortage of G-scale people in our area?

And am in the market for a new steam loco to join my existing LGB starter loco that is now 10 years old and still steaming along.

In my search, I note that service, when required can be a challenge.  Can anyone advise me if Bachmann has a service depot in Alberta Canada?  ( better yet a stocking distributor )

Thanks in advance for your feedback.
