You just made me look in my supply cabinet. I have an 80 ton shay and anticipating a problem back in 2015, I bought a spare set of drivelines from Bachmann. Front, middle and rear drivelines. Well, I have not had to use them and they are still rapped as I received them.
So, I hope Bachmann still offers these parts for you as well.

I read this post and I went to the parts part of the site. I could only find 80 ton 3 truck Shay listed. Are there both 70 and 80 Shay? And if so, are the gear sets identical? Thanks

The 2-8-2 is shorting out the system. it is probably something simple. Trucks turned around or such. Barney

I bet it does beg to be built as an over and under. As it is, the crossing point keeps you on your toes, however, it is just a great layout. I have a town center in the middle and a wooded area with a timber company. I then have a spur off near the town center that has a lumber mill and a fire wood shack. I have two train stations in the town and different parts are named after my grandchildren. So they all have a part of it. The town is "Kevinland" and the tree harvesting is done by the Elizabeth Lumber Company. Then there is The "Michael lumber yard" and "Mike's firewood Shack". I really need to take pictures and post them. I just bought a Bachmann 70 ton Climax for the lumber works.

I have a 4X8 layout and it is from the Atlas layout book. It is called the twice around and it is great. I modified it 2 years ago and I keep adding and changing it as I go along. Check it out in the Atlas book.

I received the 70 Ton Climax today and I only got to run it for about 20 minutes. It does run like a Swiss watch. What a great locomotive. It is exactly what I wanted. It is very detailed and the geared movement is fascinating to watch. Thanks again to all that responded.

I do Jack. I was building a post/support pole for a neon "Diner" sign last night and I was using all kinds of different materials to accomplish what was in my mind. I have been thinking of this project for a year and last night was when it all came together. I should be done tomorrow and if I figure out how to post some pictures, I will.

Well I just ordered one from Micro Mark. Thank you Rich for the lead. Do you know what it is like to look at the same web site and item five times in a day? Well I just ordered it. I will let you all know after it comes in. I got a 4-4-0 from Bachmann repair as a replacement for a 4-6-0 that was not repairable. What a nice running Locomotive this is. Thank you Bachmann trains.

Hello Everyone- I am thinking about buying a Climax. Can anyone share their experience with the current model. Has anyone bought one without sound and then added sound? If so, did you have to replace the decoder or is there a sound module that can be added? Would I be better served just waiting and buying a sound equipped model? Any input would be appreciated.

I have used TCS #1309 (JST6 inline connector) when I have converted older DC steam engines to DCC. I believe it will do exactly what you are looking for.

Are you looking for a harness that will allow you to disconnect the tender from the engine periodically?
