Since this was resolved within one week by Bachmann, why did you not wait a week before posting here?

   James in Fl,
YOU had no right to say anything about my parents, or the how I was raised I don't believe you even have a dog in this race..............

Perhaps I should not have said "Class action as humor and satire to not translate well on computers.....................................
JAMES, in the imortal words of Happy Days...Sit on It!!!!

We all have a dog in this race if Bachmann gives in to those trying to rip them off. It will raise the cost of their products to us honest folks.

Class action sure sounded like a threat to me.

'Sit on it' is sure a nice comeback.

Bach-Man -
I will be at both iHobby and Trainfest. Please be so kind as to tell the Rep's that I would hope to have an answer on this issue by then.
Thanks! :)

Well CNW guy - want to share with us the answer to your demands of Bachmann?

N / Re: N Scale layout size

Maybe do like John Allen did with his Gorre and Daphetid layouts 1, 2 and 3.
GD#1 was a small(HO) layout where he honed his skills, #2 was much larger and #3 filled a basement. Start small, maybe 2'x4'  and design the layout for expansion. That will allow you to experience all the aspects of building a layout,ie track support, track laying , scenery construction and more without being overwhelmed by the magnitude of tasks  to be accomplished.
See if you can find some info on Allens's Gorre and Daphetid.

Ok CNW guy, whatever your name is, I take your word for it.
Have you contacted NWSL about replacement gears - if you really want to get your old units running? They may have made them in the past - they did for the old Minitrix F7(9), LL SW-8 and Arnold S2. They stated that the S2 gears were made from aged Delrin. I have heard that this was the problem with the DD40 gears, they were made from green (unaged) plastic and thus cracked because of normal shrinkage.
Don't think you will get new units from Bachmann, maybe one.

He-He. Looks like some might have purchased a bunch of older DD40 units with the expectation of getting them replaced with the newer model. If the wish is to have a running unit, gears from the older Bachmann F9 is supposed to fit. I don't see how anyone can expect Bachmann to give a brand new and different model to honor the warranty.

I've got the same problem with the no. 81259 F7 A/B set.

One runs backwards and the motor can be neither repositioned nor rewired.

I'd like to view the solution to this problem, too.

Morris:
Are you saying that you cannot rotate the motor 180 degrees on its axis so that the brush cap that was on the bottom is now on top?

I've owned several Bachmann f9s, both the old metal gear one and the plastic gear type. The motor could be mounted to make the engine run in opposite directions.
When you say one direction are you talking front to back?" Point one way" sounds like you are attempting to turn the motor front to back. As taz-of-boyds sez, the idea is to flip the motor so that  the brush cap that was on the bottom is now on top.
Let us know.

I'm almost positive that the motor is symmetrical and should go in either way.
