I purchased this loco new on eBay, 11/22/2015. It came with the 16 Bit Sound-Traxx Tsunami sound module . I can operate it on DC no issues. I have an "MRC Sound Controller 2.0", that allows me to use a "Dual-Mode" feature, and access several brands of HO sound decoders (including MTH too!)
However, I tried setting (and restoring), the loco to "factory defaults" - but no success. I get Nothing in the Dual Mode (no run/no sound), & loco will not respond in the "Standard" setting; again no run/no sound... :(
It's the "Plug-and-Play" DCC "Sound-On-Board" exclusively made for the Bachmann EM-1
This Sound-Traxx Tsunami Decoder will only work (with no access to the bell, whistle, etc.), on straight DC... :(
What gives? Is it not for "Dual Mode?"  :(
I do not have DCC on my layout...
Any help, for a solution, would be most appreciated...thanks!  :)

High Gang...
I need to know the following:
1) Original M.S.R.P. of the above loco
2) IIRC, the release date was: Fall-2003
3) Is this DCC?
4) Approximate value of loco mint-in-box?
Thanks for your time, & consideration,
Regards,

This was commonly referred  to as a "Doghouse." It was a shelter for the brakeman. By the way...what you refer to as a 'coal car', is more accurately known as a "Tender" for the steam locomotive. The tender of course, had a water tank, & a bunker for coal. It some cases it stored oil, if the locomotive was an oil burner.

Thanks for all the replies so far! No set available on ebay as of present. Googled, & didn't turn-up one. I cannot find one listed here on the Bachmann site either...what's up with that???!!!

I have a friend in Hollywood, Florida that says he can get two of the original sets from a collector in Miami. We shall see. I'm hoping his price isn't too high.

I can't see these reaching "Collector's Status" - but I may be wrong. As some of you have said, retail price is the norm on eBay. $510.00 WOW!!!

Again, thanks for the help!

IIRC, IHC was scheduled to release a 2-8-8-2 steam loco. This would have been around 1995/1996 maybe. There was an announcement in MR new product news. It apparently didn't materialize, but I thought it a good idea, as they already had the basic "2-8-2" platform ready. Maybe it got bogged down with the cost of a new boiler, etc.

Now that I think more about it, maybe they were announcing a Challenger-4-6-6-4???!!! Does anyone recall this?

These were announced about the same time that Model Expo in Pocono, PA, took over distributorship of Rivarossi. (Model Expo relocated to Hollywood, FL  around 1996?) That's when Rivarrossi steam loco's came with the new RP25 wheels, & the Japanese five-pole motor in the boiler.

I have experimented myself with a few "Morphodite" creation's...although they are still pending!!! (Y-E-A-H R-I-G-H-T!!!)

Hello, I have tried to locate info on the Geo. Wash Pass train set here, but haven't had any luck. I need to know the original MSRP on this set. I'm trying to locate one to buy, & can't find much on this sets availability. What would be a decent price for a new set-complete? how about a used set, that was complete?

I'm thinking that it was released in 2004, & was a limited numbered set. Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks in advance...
