I have standarised on Bachmann Knuckle Couplers, they retrofit almost every other brand on the manket.  With European LGB rolling stock you usually have to remove the centre buffer or it interferes with the Bachmann Knuckle.

Simple exchange coupling, to maintain centering on other brands us a short Electriccal Tie, and cut to length,  simple.,

Like Loco Bill I use an Aristocraft Reverser on my Trolley Line, they do work great.

I don't believe that Bachmann has ever said they will never make 1:20.3 Passenger Cars, but just not now.  As the Bach-man always says, anticipate!

I certainly must echo the previous comments, what a car, super detailed superbly, looks great beside the Accrucraft Short Caboose.
This will take some beating, what next Bach-man.

Craig, I would not worry about the Plastic Rods, as even the so called Creme-de-Creme, LGB, used plastic rods, no problems ever.

I have a Deadwood Central 2-8-0, which on a level railroad recently hauled 44 Bachmann Gondola cars, no wheel slip, this is a very powerful machine.  But now shopped due to the tenter bogies disintergrating again, bad plastic!

Threre is no need to change the couplers on Aristo Delton Cars, they come with a Bachmann compatible coupler, in fact they are hard to couple to Aristocraft's 1:29 scale cars.  In many respects the Delton knuckle coupler is a better coupler that Bachmann, and will couple perfectly every time.

I use an Aristocraft Reversing Unit, Catalogue Number 11090.  These units work great, my tram arrives at one end, waits for the programmed time and runs back to the other end.  Waiting time can be programmed from 5 seconds to five minutes.

I have two 45 tonner Diesels, had trouble with one of mine, but Matthew Brown, was able to help me (Matthew OV).

I do  not think you could haul that number of AMS cars with any loco, they have a drag effect, I find that all my other cars roll much easier trhat AMS products.

I do not believe that Bachmann seeks to be all things to all people, what they do,  they do well.   Catering for a  Narrow gauge market, there are more than enough manufacturers catering for Standard Gauge modellers, even if most have a incorrect scale/gauge combination!

You will have no problem replacing the LGB Hook & Loops with Bachmann Knuckle couplers, I have done this on one end and used the supplied Link & Pin couplings between the cars.  LGB couplings are at the same height as Bachmann.

If what I am hearing is correct, the new little critter has adjustable height knuckle couplers, which should suit both the new Spectrum height coupling and the older 1.22.5 lower coupling, excellent idea!
