General Discussion / Coupling for wood-side dump car?
September 27, 2024, 11:10:15 PM
Unfortunately a drop of the wagon #29801 caused the shank on the coupling to snap off. I need a replacement coupling but noted that the distance from the screw to the base of the knuckle is 12mm whilst all my other Bachmann wagons are 8mm. How can I get a replacement coupling for this particular wagon?

That's interesting Len. Even though I only bought them three months ago would this still happen if they had been in the store for a long time?

General Discussion / Why is warm-up needed?
August 31, 2024, 06:50:49 PM
I have two Baldwin 2-6-2T locos (On30) which when starting from cold jerk several times before running smoothly. However if I let power run into them but not so much that they commence to move for about 30 seconds then they move off smoothly. Does anyone know why?

Mystery solved - It's the Low Frame 4'1" Arch Bar Freight Trucks.

On30 / Which truck is it?
July 05, 2024, 05:58:58 AM
I am looking at building some kit wagons and want the same trucks (here in Australia we call them bogies) as those on the On30 18' Low Side Gondolas. So my question is which is it - Arch Bar Freight Trucks or Low Frame 4'1" Arch Bar Freight Trucks or Vulcan Freight Trucks? Can anyone help?

Thank you, that clarifies it.

Thanks for the reply but except for your comment that it is part of the prototype I was then lost. I assume that Audio Assist and CV are DCC terms? If that's the case, and as I run DC I guess I can't change the prototype?

I'm recently new to Bachmann having purchased the Baldwin 2-6-2T, Spectrum On30. I run DC (saving up for DCC), both the front and rear engine headlights shine constantly and I'm wondering if this is the norm or should only the headlight shine in the direction it is going (as per my non Bachmann engine)? Must admit it was a very pleasant surprise to hear it!
