Quote from: DustyMarie53! on February 04, 2025, 07:14:44 PMI'm of two minds on this. On one hand, the face would be a really nice bonus. However, with the pipeline having so much to work on as is, I do worry delaying this pack just for the face would mean it missing the anniversary year window and thus feeling less special. Admittedly people will probably buy it anyway, me included, but it being tied with this year specifically I think will help its sales a lot.

On the bright side, if it's delayed for 2026, at least it'll be good for the anniversary of the second book as it'll be 80 years since Thomas' book.

Quote from: GordonPacific04 on January 31, 2025, 01:56:54 PMThe China Clay Waggons look great, love the Railway Series text on them. Although I do wish they used the 6-ton waggon tooling, as to make them more accurate to the 5-plank waggons in the illustations.

Yeah, at least they would be in height with Bill and Ben. Though they likely wanted to make them be more in line with the CGI wagons.

Yeah, that's been gone for a year.

11 EST AM Update: So yeah, they only discontinued G Scale Winston, the red water tower and the lighthouse. I saw that the new Milk tanker will be alongside the Tidmouth one, so I don't know if Bachmann would still make the old one alongside the current one, or they'll end the old one for next year (as unlike the Raspberry Tanker and Mail Vans, this is another product number).

11:30 Update: The other flatbeds with the crates are gone. Looks like they hadn't sold well for Bachmann despite only being in the market for 4-5years.

I might get the 80th set just for the brake van/caboose. Glad to see they reused the Brown Cargo wagon.

It's not Thomas,  but I'm surprised they jumped ahead to do a real life version of Sir Handel's basis just as they finished him instead of doing a real life Rheneas.

Quote from: DustyMarie53! on January 25, 2025, 11:16:26 AMSeems only the light house, water tower, and winston are discontinued. Tidmouth milk is not being replaced by the cgi one which is good

Correction, the two other flatbeds with the crates are gone. Noticed it when I relooked the website.

Quote from: DustyMarie53! on January 25, 2025, 09:41:48 AMWill update once the PDF is live and we can see what if anything beyond the lighthouse was discontinued. Looks like Winston and the last HO train set may be gone? But also page layout might just be changed

Yeah, I don't see Winston anymore on the website, and the first character to be off Large Scale market. Kinda sad as I thought he would be good for most layouts as you can put the crew in there, but I guess not. Also means an HO version is off the tables.

Also saw the square water towers are gone, so now it's only Tidmouth Sheds is the only building left.

Quote from: JLK2707 on January 25, 2025, 04:05:59 AMCan Emily's coaches just be taken apart?

The HO/OO ones? I think you can as I sold one of them with the Annie/Clarabel roof.

Quote from: DustyMarie53! on January 14, 2025, 10:47:15 AMThey also talked about the Tidmouth sheds expansions they used to do and how they did not sell well at all and are unlikely to ever return. Also unlikely to ever be brought in for those n scale sheds.

Really sad to hear that as I like the idea on giving extra berths to represent either the 6 or 7 sheds from the TV series. That means the only way to expand the sheds is to buy another set, which I don't think parents would shell unless they're one of those billionaires. I was luck to buy 2 of the kits before they're all gone. I hope Bachmann would keep the current sheds for a while as I know how much the original sells for after they ended that years ago.

Quote from: Yard Master on January 09, 2025, 01:51:55 PMHi all,

The Lighthouse has been discontinued, but the other items have not been. Yellow Rheneas and the Narrow Gauge Open Wagon are still in stock here at Bachmann; the Sodor Diesel Co. Tanker will be restocked later this year.

Thanks for informing that! I know there's a UK store Dusty saw that they had some items on discount, and we weren't sure if both the lighthouse and Sodor Diesel Co tankers were off. Got both items after hearing that, but at least was prepared.

Quote from: Angelob6660 on January 08, 2025, 12:02:47 AMI looked at current catalog and no Tar Wagon. Was it deleted or something. I was looking forward to getting at least 3 of them.

I was confused as I thought the 2025 catalog was out, but it's not. We'll wait until it's released.

Quote from: Luke22 on November 04, 2024, 01:11:23 AMI can see Norman being made, especially if they decide to reuse Rebecca's wheels AND seeing that they're cousins to each other being built from the same designer Bulleid..., more or less.

Not exactly, as Rebecca's wheels were reused from Hiro and are larger, and Norman's are definitionally Bulleid wheels and I think smaller.

I don't mind buying Connor, but I wonder if that leads into making Caitlin as the two go together.

I'm impressed that they got him finished quickly compare to Rebecca! Can't wait for him very soon. I'm only worried on how he'll be on Thomas' chassis after hearing stuff about it.

Thomas & Friends / Re: Bachmann Duncan Thread
October 09, 2024, 04:03:19 PM
One thing I don't get is Doug's reasoning of cross appeal. Most fans stated that it's likely because Duncan isn't accurate to the real basis, which I get that part. But we got Rusty, who unlike the other 4 engines, is based more on his model just with extra vents. Whereas the first four are a hybrid on the models and real basis.

Since it's 15 years since the CGI era started, I think Bachmann could have a crack at one of the Nitrogen era character that not too many like as the hatred for the era has died down  (and they are starting to do Sidney next).

Dash and Bash wouldn't be too hard, but the problem isn't so much the reception on Misty Island, but rather because of Ferdinand. Because I heard from the grapevine that Bachmann likely won't do another tender engine unless Rebecca  sells well, and that preorders for her aren't that high compare to Beau (who keep in mind, is a retool). And while Dash and Bash do sell fine together without Ferdinand, I still think it wouldn't be complete without all three.

Belle is a mid range tank engine with water cannons, though unlike Harvey or Diesel 10, they don't need a lot of detailing as they don't have a lot of complicated parts. Though like with Dash and Bash, the only thing holding Belle back is that she's paired with Flynn, who might be a complicated character Bachmann would have to deal with. Granted, they had done road vehicles on rails, but the thing about Flynn is that he goes on both road and rails. Another factor is that he has a small trailer, which we don't know if that classifies as a tender engine or not.

Thomas & Friends / Re: Beau Appreciation Thread
June 14, 2024, 10:10:10 PM
I think Beau is the exception as Bachmann already had the tooling for the US (and it resembles the engine a bit) and the fact he only appeared in one story. The problem is that like what Dusty said; the toolings for Arthur and Murdoch are a bit detailed and I rather have them look more like how they are in the show.
