I am replacing a broken drive shaft on a climax I bought.  I found most of what I needed to complete the job but I cannot figure out how to safely dismantle the universal joints without breaking the o ring or the shaft ends.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I recently got a second hand Rail Truck that I have restored, including new gears and motor, and verified the motor worked before installing and that the gears moved freely.  The problem is that the lights respond to the DCC lights on/off switch but the motor does not.  I have reprogrammed the DCC decoder several times but I cannot get any response from the motor. (not even a hum as though it were trying to run).  Does anyone have any idea what I can do to narrow down the problem?  Would the light work if the chip were bad?  Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Does anyone know where I could find parts for the rail truck that are no longer available?  I am looking for the front truck (wheel set) or specifically the brake pads which hold the contacts in place.
