I know some people don't like digitrax but I just bought a new Bachmann 4-4-0 American #119. I have used them in the past and have no problems. I put digitrax dh165IP decoders into #119. granted they aren't sound but for now I just want them to move. I also use the dh165IP in my hieslers . any engine with little space gets one.

I wonder if the bach man has any ideas.
I will also send the pics to service and ask them if it is complete

thanks  terry , I will look at it closer. it will probably need more weight. I would hate to buy that spring from bachman. it may only cost .60 cents but shipping is $6.95. I have lots of spare parts so I will find something.

does anyone have some suggestions on how to keep the front trucks on the rails? it doesn't have any spring to use for down force.

I am glad this question came up. I have a old Bachmann trolley (DC) that I am going to add to my new layout. it will do a point to point to point to point run though town and I was wondering just how small of a radius it would take. because I am running down the middle of the streets.  it only has two axles. I see now that it is possible to go as small as 6". this trolley also has a working pantograph which I found to really neat for my layout. the layout is dcc but this trolley will run dc so I don't have to swap over to dcc. thanks for the info 

I got the tender cover off installed my test  decoder and off it went. runs good. has a little grinding noise but think with some lube it will be ok. now I will decide if I want sound or not.

this unit is suppose to be the new tooling. I could be wrong. there is no driveshaft from the tender to the loco like there is on a couple of my older units. which someday I may covert to dcc. another future project. it has pickups on the tender.

just got a #51002 4-4-0 American that's dcc ready. from I can find the pcb board is in the tender. does the "Bachmann" or anyone where I can find some instructions or tell me how to remove the tender shell. I have went though all the enclosed paper work of the exploded views but nothing about how to remove shells

does anyone own Bachmann's 45 ton loco. I purchased one and when I put it on the track it does run nice except for this click sound that comes from it as it runs. I thought maybe it was the side rods hitting the track but everything looks clear. I thought maybe it is a defective unit. have thought about sending it in for repair.  anyone have any answers. maybe the bach man can look into it.  thanks

I don't know if this will help. but on my layout and the clubs layout , we found a neat little thing from "tam valley depot" . its called a frog juicer. basically what it does it is power the frogs to stop the stalling of engines. I have one on my layout because one of my curved switches  had problems like this.  it is not very expensive about $14.00. go to the website and read up on it. hope this helps

my layout's largest curve is 36" everything else will probably be 30" . the trolley will be as small I  need to get though the town curves since it is the old Bachmann single axle. my largest engine is a sd 40-2  , one is a 4-6-2, other is to be a 4-6-0 , a 4-8-0 , 4-8-2 . I also have a 2 and 3 trk hiesler , 0-6-0 goat, 0-4-0 , and s2 , 70 tonner, 45 ton, 44 ton. hope these help

have looked just about everywhere on Bachmann trains website to find if they have something that states the min. curve each engine will make.
maybe the bach man will know.
