1940 era Lionel, O27 Hudson with all the cars and accessories you could imagine, in an inner loop. Many happy hours with that and my Brother's O gauge K4 on the outside loop with a pier bridge and inner loop. I can say the Magna-traction worked 99% of the time.  Concrete floors did not seem to harm that old stuff!

Fantastic site!  Thanks for the useful info.  As a PITT freshman many years ago I got to set up the Mr. Rogers show very late at night with some other students. Got to touch the trolley, which was a real hoot.

Thanks for the information.  It does not surprise me that there is reduced tourism at Orbisonia.  It is a pretty far poke for lots of folks.  My own kids demur at the 75 min drive from Altoona, for crying out loud !  On another matter, the distance to Altoona is probably a reason why the train museum went to Strasburg.  Our Altoona Railroaders Museum is wonderful but suffers from lack of attendance.

Howdy Bill and Bo,

Not having front truck problems, I can only sympathise.  That being said, I have a Q for Bill.  What about adding a small straight section on the diverging portion of the turnout? Is that what Bo means when he says "pier?"  Some of the guys on the HO side suggest that.

Too, Bo, have you looked at BBT's recommendation to fix the older Annie's front truck, as re-iterated by George Schreyer?

As Jeff said, there are many cars rusting away.  To me, it looks like a lot of them could not be repaired economically.  Sad to see them in that condition.  They are there for anyone to climb all over them.  The easy access makes EBT appealing.  Easy to pilfer, too.

After seeing what goes into a passenger coach restoration at Strasburg, it seems to me that EBT probably does not have the money nor volunteers to do the work.

To Bob,  What is your opinion about EBT returning to operations?

A deceased friend told me the Rose Yard in Altoona had some old 161 pound rail that he saw about 20 years ago.  I had mentioned this to you several years ago, and thought that your answer was "no."   Is it OK for me, in your opinion, to nose around down there to look at rail markings?  Or does NS discourage that kind of stuff?  I always look out for the "choo choos."  Thanks in advance for your answer!   Jack

Boy-Oh-Boy is that nice!  I suppose you could use two throttles or DCC. What would you think about using four No. 6 turnouts to make a double crossover in the center of one of the long runs so you could get a reversing section in there?
