My layout is analog, and I have 2 main ovals (22 and 18) connected by 2 #6 crossovers. Looking at the track, the crossover is a solid rail, and there does not seem to be a way to make the outer track one block and the inner another by insulating one rail, as power to either loop feeds to both inner and outer tracks.
Would it be possible/advisable to make a small cut on one crossover rail (leaving the other as the common) to provide an air gap for blocking purposes?
Looking backward this would have been possible with 2 separate cross switches and insulated rail joiners, but the double one cannot be separated.
Feedback is appreciated.
