Well now that looks like a very nice loco. Unfortunately I'm not an NYC modeller but that mechanism is just too tempting, Looks liike I'll be making a AT&SF Hudson

Hi Mr Bachman,
I would really like to see the 4-8-4 kept in production. Right now parts are running out and this is the only correct design for the Santa Fe around. I would ask that Bachmann reworks the mechanism to be more like the Spectrum J 4-8-4. The Northern has broader appeal than the j Class and if the shell could be reworked with better detailing as a Spectrum that would be really great.
Remembering also, the Northern is a ATSF 2900 class not a 3751 class, maybe you could do 2 types the 2900 class and a 3751 class?

Sigh......... The fix for the cracked gears is to use Bachmann's F9 wheelsets. This has been a remedy for the last 5 -6 years. You can order the F9 trucks from the online parts shop $6.00 for a truck.

You could try Bullfrog Snot and see how that goes. There's a few people on other forums trying it. Basically you apply a drop to a pair of drivers, according to others results have been good.
