okay out there, any more pictures using the N-scale EZ-track?

I'm finally in the planning stages for my new layout. It will not resemble anything in the real world. It will be called I think the Paradox rail line. The setting: someone was experimenting with time travel and somehow bits of the old world mixed with the new world. That's why you might see a '57 Chevy passing a 80's Mustang.

I realize that just going in circles can get old real quick, but I for one enjoy the journey along with the destination. Building the layout for me is a lot of fun. Trying to figure out what goes where is part of the journey. Yes, it's frustrating and crazy impossible at times trying to do things like building placement, where to put the trees, should there be a lake or a river in this set-up, all of that stuff. That's how we get our own ideas, by seeing what someone else did and expanding on it in some way to make it our own. I guess that's what I'm after.

I'm hoping that we can get a good supply of pictures and lists of equipment used in making N-scale E-Z Track layouts. So please show off your work and lets get a good base of projects that other newbies can use to start in this world that is Model Railroading.

I should've put a little more thought into the post before I hit the button but it's that I see books with HO layouts in the stores that use the E-Z Track, but never anything in N-scale. Yes I realize that HO is more popular but I say we should stand and make ourselves heard. "Hey! We're here too!"

So, when the garage finally gets to the point I can set something up, maybe by then some people will have posted a few pictures of their set-ups.

I just don't get it. E-Z Track is put out by Bachmann. There are LOTS of threads about all the stuff this company sells. But it seems to me that N-scale is the redheaded step child when it comes to layouts using the very stuff this company sells. Why is it so hard to find any layout plans using this track in N scale? Listing sizes, radius, turnouts, things like that? There are so many threads even on this very site that have layouts using other scales and companies tracks and systems but none so far that I have found on here using N-scale E-Z Track. I'd like to have a book or some kind of archive that shows the layout and lists what was used in the construction of the layout.

Let's start another thread, show a picture or drawing of your layout using ONLY N-scale E-Z Track parts and list the items used in it's construction. If we can't get a book on the subject, maybe a list like this can help people like me decide on what kind and shape of train layout we want to do without having to use some other companies products.

As of right now, I'm in a planning stage of a build, but with all the parts I've gotten off of e-Bay, I have no idea as to what I can or can't attempt to put together. What size will fit, Should it be portable, or in a fixed spot. What do I need to build it? I have limited space to use but without some ideas as to what I can use or size, I don't know really where to start. And no, I don't want to start over using someone else's equipment to build my layout. I happen to like the E-Z Track.

I also bought one of these "older" ones and it too had a couple of cracked gears. I even went so far as trying to match them up with some servo gears, no luck. So, I ended up getting one of the "newer" ones and the old one is now a pretty shelf queen.

To answer one of your questions, the numbers mean how many wheels the steam locomotive has. A 4-4-0 would have a set of 4 wheels under the front of it, 4 wheels under the main section of it and 0 wheels under the rear or cab section of it. A loco with like you asked would have 2 under the front, 8 under the middle and 2 under the rear of it.

In the three plans presented above, two of them if you start out going clockwise around the track, you can eventually get it to start going counter clockwise. But, then you can't get it to go the other way again. The first one is the same except starting out in the opposite direction. Looks to me that the only way to get the train to go the other way again, is to physically pick it up and turn it around, (like that happens in real life sized trains) or installing a turntable into the above designs. The only other way involves a lot of backing up.

I just need to save up the funds to buy one,,,

Well, what I meant was there were other places listed to download the program that were in addition to the Anyrail site. And some of those places were saying that they would download the key so you wouldn't have to buy it.

speaking of Anyrail, I typed it into the search box and up popped a bunch of places to download it,, along with the "key" to get the full version. Has anyone else seen this?

How much longer is that guy going to be in Nuremburg? I thought he'd be back by now. Seems odd there's still no response from the "makers".

It seems to me that with this company selling this type of track for so long, there would be more available track plans out there on the internet or even here on this site. I can find all kinds of stuff for the more "mainstream" HO and larger scales out there, even in E-Z track. Why are we, the ones who like the scale and the smaller sizes of our layouts treated like the proverbial "redheaded stepchild"?
There are some of us that are trying to enjoy this hobby on fixed incomes and buying books that may or may not have plans that'll work gets to be pretty expensive.

Sorry about all this, I just needed to vent a little. Everyday, more and more, it always costs.
