Somewhere in my stuff I have a picture and a drawing of, what appears to be, the prototype for that little car. If memory serves me it was 20' long and only 6' 7" wide so the little sucker is really 1:20 scale.

The headlite, backup lite LED's can be changed. Did it because I hated the orange ones that were there.
Drill out the back of the lite 5/32. Pull the LED out and slip the new one in.
Cut a circle of thin styrene with a hole punch. Poke two tiny holes in it for the
LED leads, glue it to the back of the light and paint it flat black.
It will take three or four coats to keep lite from bleeding, but when your done it looks like it looked before you started.

I would suggest MRC's Prodigy starter set, if you are considering sound.
It is inexpensive, has a lot of features, as is upgradable.

Yeah, I raise my couplers also because they are to darn low and don't look right.
I use Kadee 147's. On the 2-6-6-2 I ground the the mounting base on the tender about 1/16 and was able to mount coupler with the Bachmann screw.
On the pilot the 147 brought the height up close enough. Height from top of rail to center of coupler is 1/2 inch.

I to have raised my On30 couplers. Am using Kadee 147's which have the shank at the bottom of the knuckle.
These are a whisker coupler, install easily and work well.

Lotta grumbling and complaining but this is a model of a REAL 30" gauge engine.  Small boiler, big cab just like the 4-4-0. Ads a lot of character.       Only problem I have is when can I get one?

The 2-6-6-2 was designed as a narrow gauge mallet, but never built.
Bachmann chose an excellent prototype. I think mine is great.

Your English is a heck of a lot better than some of our high school grads so don't worry about it.

Were do I pick up power for the sound board and how the heck do I hook up the optical sensors?

I work at a local hobby shop. Got our first two mallets in Monday and the first one I sold had a broken crankpin bolt. These are very delicate so be careful not to over tighten as I doubt that replacements will be available.
The second one had loose bolts so I carefully snugged them down. Not TO tight!!

Could not find any thing for galloping goose,or similar, that would fit without a butcher job so settled for an MRC 1662 sound only chip. Fits easily under roof and 28mm speaker fits behind rear bulkhead. Easy installation and sounds good.

The rear truck on my Forney derails at random locations.  Have checked track gauge and level.  Lead and trailing trucks on all other engines have no problem.
It has a 100% problem on a right hand turnout. As it goesthru to the right the trailing truck follows the straight path.
Drat, this is the passenger engine and service is seriuosly disrupted.
Any ideas?

  I gave up on that idea, ripped out the circuit board and hardwired a Sunami.
  Sunami board lies crosswise on it side in coal bunker which left room for a decent speaker. Had to space coal load up slightly.
  Bachmann board has wire locations labeled.
  Soundtraxx has a new, smaller Sunami. This would make a much easier installation.
