Thanks.  I had read on one of the bulletin boards that they were meant for DC only and shorted out when used on DCC because of the higher voltage.  I'm glad that I won't need to modify them.

I have just purchased 3 Bachmann Spectrum Heavyweight passenger cars for use on my HO DCC layout.  My question is: Are these cars with interior lighting for use on DC only or can they be used on DCC also?  And if they are meant for DC, what is the procedure for converting them for use on DCC?  Any information would be most helpful.

I would like to add DCC to my EMD F40PH engine which has split shell and very little room.  Has anyone installed a decoder in one?  Which decoder would you recommend?  Any problem isolating the motor terminals and routing the wires?
