make sure you check how tight a radius that turbo will handle

Joint compound is what its called by drywall guys (or drywall mud). I've got thirty years in residential construction and I would not recomend premixed for that type of application. It gets cracks easily without some suitable type of reinforcement. Try durabond "90" dry compound, you mix what you need to the consistency you want and get about an hours working time. Its a much stronger product and is more resistent to moisture and cracking.It costa about 9-12 per 25 lb bag. Also it is usually a varying shade of light grey.

I have two spectrum sd45's, they work fine on my smallest radius (19.5)
they are great pullers, smooth runners too. what road are they?

Lokking at clinton I have the gears are exposed on the bottom, could it possibly have picked up a speck of dirt?  Your not running these on the floor are you?

Well,  I put it on the mainline , ran well. So I set up an EZ track oval test track,(18""radius), ran well.  Looking at the front wheels it seems mine has about 3/32nd side to side play between wheels and carriage. Does yours have the spring that keeps the wheels pressed on the track? Is it strong?

I have a dewittt clinton its been run a few times, seemed to run well. I'll take a look at it. Dors yours make any strange sounds ?

I finally figured it out, there is a tiny slot centered between the rails that holds the spring in place, I used the smallest flat screwdriver I had and pushed down and away from  the center at a forty five degree angle and pushed the spring out the bottom. I did this with the switch already laid because I did not want to go to the trouble of removing it. It seems to work well.
