Lee,

Thanks for the information, I have cleaned the pot with a Q-tip, assuming the pot is  silver in color with a slot in the middle that a flat head screw driver will turn both directions.  I do not see anthing attached, is the wiper on the outside of the pot and visible, I don't see a thing?

Thanks for the help

I don't think they are batteries, one is 35v 1000 uf, one is 16 v 22 uf and the third has  SA II. they are black , I used them as a reference point to the pot.
I appreciate the help. I am new to "trains" and i learn a lot from asking question and reading on these "forums"

I still don't see a "wiper" is it a single  wire that should be inside the pot?

Thanks again

Took the shell off. Found the "Pot"

Looking at the engine with the light on the right, the "pot" is silver located behind a battery (?) , it is the only thing I can see that a flat head screwdriver will fit and it will turn both clockwise and counter. I do not see a wiper in the pot.

Horn / bell is still not working.

Thanks

When will this item be in stock?

Can couplers be changed? My Spectrum  set has a different coupler than the NW "classic Collection Series" passenger cars" I have, they are about 10 yrs old, the engine & tender are new. These items were  bought when I decided to get in the hobby but waited to I retired to actually get started, I also bought a N&W class J 4-8-4 (Limited Collectors edition when I bought the cars) the engine would not run when I first tried  it some 10 years after I bought it, so I took it apart to grease, etc and now that unit is history.
The unit is  HO
Thanks for the help

I have a Spectrum  N&W class  J 4-8-4. Do I disassemble the engine to add grease?
How do i know if it is DCC , DC  or something else?
What type of transformer do I need? I have 10 ea 9" and 2 ea 2" straight 16 ea curved (22 rad) and plan to add using the Bachmann Expander set, all the track is E-Z track by Bachmann, the Hobby shop did not tell me about nickle-silver track. The power pack i am now using is probably 25 years old, from a train I bought for my kids I think it was a Tyco.

thanks
