Dear Bill,

Indeed I read Tony's post with relish.  When I am ready to attempt a battery install, I will look you up for advice.  I still have the email you sent me with pix, in my archives.  It was from a presentation you did, I think.  Nicely done !

Your subscript says "unofficial historian."  No way !  You dee Man !

Best Wishes,

Jack

Dear Tony,

G'Day, Mate !  Thanks a million !

My next purchase will be an Indy or Lyn.   Most likely it will be my first battery install, using the directions from Loco Bill.

Interesting dilemma, which to buy, don't you think ?  Problem solved.  I'll buy one of each !

Best Wishes,

Dear Friends and Loco Bill,

Any chance you could fit batteries in this baby ?  Or would you need to make a battery car ?

From one of the electronically ungifted..... :)

Dear All,

Based on your past experience with re-introductions, or new products, does anyone have an approximate time the Indy will be on dealers' shelves ?

Best Wishes,

Dear Bruce,

Bee-you-tee-full !

Not being adept at this stuff, do you think a 2-8-0 from Barry would work for this kind of project ?

Dear Kevin and Wade,

Forgot to mention the conductor on the first evening train Saturday said the M-1 had a magneto problem and had to be pushed in by the 14 car train earlier.  There was some wheel slip backing into the wye, he said.  Last year we had to be pulled in by the M-1 when there developed low brake pressure.  Had a very nice time, nice weather.

Dear Wade,

Glad to hear you made the Fall Spectacular.  I got there 1700 for dinner and to ride the first evening train, which departed about 2000 hours.  Missed the 14 car train but heard about it.  Earlier Sat, or perhaps Fri, my friend told me they hookup up 4 air horns from No.'s 14 through 18 and had a blow-off, like in the old days.  Missed that one, too !  The evening ride in the flat car was glorious, warm, cinders, stars, etc.

Best Wishes,

Jack

Dear Guys,

Great idea !  I am going to put one in the corner of my WF Christmas boxcar with a hobo figure for the kids to run.  (I suppose I should not tell you my artificial Xmas tree is still up from last year with Aristo brass track in my living room).  That said, we have fun.  It is now a bachelor pad, so I guess I can do what I durn well please !  Now that I am single, my pockets DO NOT jingle...

Best Wishes,

Jack

Howdy, Bill !

Do you do this stuff for fun ?   :D

Seriously, glad you are our (or "r,r" as they say in central PA !) resident historian, now that we no longer hear from the Old Curmudgeon !

Best Wishes,

Dear Barry,

Sure did !  I have never handled nor run Aristo heavies, but presume this added a lot of stress on your consist.

Dear Barry,

Did you do any fiddling with the positions of the cars in the consist, or did you just grab and go ?  The reason I ask is this:  a local enthusiast set up an O gauge layout with MTH and pulls about 50 cars, mixed bag.  He could only get that amount to pull without derailment after a lot of trial and error to get exactly the right lineup.  His track looks pretty good, but there are sharp curves, etc.

I must say your videos are quite impressive.

Dear Bill,

I, too gave up surfing...too much sand up the nose !   ::)

Hope your "old age" problems get resolved quickly.  At 59, my "old age" problems are starting, too.

Thanks for keeping on top of the LS stuff !

Dear Wade,

Long time no see !  A recently deceased buddy told me he saw 161 pound rail in the Rose Yard several years ago.  Could you confirm that ?   I always thought 141 was the max.

Best Wishes,

Jack

Dear Jim,

Thanks for the invitation.  I will be coming to SA the following month, however, for my son's graduation from BMT at Lackland AFB.

Thus to my question.  Could you please contact me via email to perhaps suggest a nice (Cheap) motel for 3 kids and me ?  Much obliged !
