That's what an American 500 pounder does to a German War locomotive.
Looks like a type 50.

By the way , all my 2-6-6-2's have 21 pin connectors.
So you will need a 21 pin decoder or a adapter cable to 8 pins

First place it's not a chip but a decoder .
The chip as you call it is part of the electronics on the decoder
If it has as you say a 8 pin nmra connector is see no reason why they shouldn't work.

If you insist on running on DC try this piece of electronics.
You will also need a regulated power supply.

Your locomotives will run much smoother and slower.

Must be French locomotives.

In principle you don't need the motherboard.

Red and black for the pickups to the decoder.
orange and grey from the motor to the dec.
blue plus for lighting.
White for front light + 1000 Ohm resistor.
Yellow for back light + 1000 Ohm resistor.

Should run like a charm.

If you're lucky the lens insert is not glued in place.
What i do is drill a small hole in the back of the housing so i can push the lens insert out with a pin.

You mentioned a resistor over the motor, that is probably a capacitor that inhibits the sparking of the motor.

Come on guys this one is easy.
Just plug and pray.
Try to install a decoder without connector and all black wires.
That's challenging.

great video.  great models.

Wish I spoke the language and knew what was being said.

I do.
The builder is Martin Welberg Master model builder Master carpenter.
I met him several times in the flesh and we meet on the Dutch American trains forum.
I saw this one being made on the forum.
He's good.

I like the whole philosophy behind the 1:72 design.
It's leaning toward the British 00 scale 1:76.

Yes Trainman , they are the original Soundtraxx decoders.
I even tried the direct shutdown settings as indicated in the manual but no joy.
Could be because i use the auto sounds.
Then there could be a conflict between those two CV's that is not described in the user manual and the tech manual.
It's getting quite noisy in the train room sometimes I have to revert to F8.

I tried to activate CV113 on a few of my TSU 1000 decoders but i hear no effect.

From the Tsunami manual;

Using the quiet mode
Tsunami quiet mode is used to turn the sound on only after the decoder is
placed into action.
It will also automatically turn the sound effects off when
the decoder is not being used.
This is particularly useful when you have a
large number of sound equipped engines on your layout and don't wish to
have them turn on all at once!

To activate the quiet mode, simply program cv113 to any non-zero value
between 1 and 255. 0.1 sec per step.
