I have an Aristo Large Scale RS-3 which over the years since 1999 and 5 kids has lost most of its railings.

I haven't cared much to replace them because  I wanted to wait till my 2 younger ones got a little older BUT

with Aristo going out I am going to look into a replacement set and will let you know  what i find out!!

Thanks for drawing my attention to it as Christmas is coming

Would it be feasable for Bachmann to consider a set commemorating the 2 railroads meeting and driving the Golden Spike!!

I find a lot of kids like that style of Locomotive and it would be a great way to get them into the hobby!!!!!!

I really liked them. My first venture into Large scale was after my wife and I were married and HAD to have a train around our first Christmas tree together.

I bought a Aristocraft set with a 0-4-0 UP Steamer and 3 passenger cars, it came with track and a transformer. We still have the set and it has been through 5 kids and a 4 cats and Chocolate Lab!!!!!!!!!! I also bought other Aristocraft engines, rolling stock, cabooses etc and I am a O-Gauge guy. The stuff is still running although the RS-3 has all its railings broken off and the Bobber Caboose has most of the railings gone. But all of it runs and the kids love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I will miss them. Lots of Nostalgia for us.

At the Botanical Gardens in a northern suburb of Chicago they have a HUGE layout set up every year during the Christmas Season and the maintainence fellas told us most of what they have and use is Aristocraft. Also the Tall Tree Gardens here in Indiana uses Aristocraft. They have a web site. It will amaze you the size of the set up outdoors!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Interesting

I didn't appreciate low numbered grades like 1, 2 ,3 or 4% until I had to ride up those grades on my bicycle in the mountains of Georgia.

What a workout!!!!!!!!!!

Really a scarry rush on the decent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We received our latest copy of Classic Toy Trains magazine.

On the back cover Bachmann usually has an ad. They were announcing that the O-Gauge RS-3's were to become

available soon.

But

The Seaboard version was missing!!

What's up ??

Railroad exec friend of our family told us Cabooses may be making a comeback.

I don't have many details and he said he is not at liberty to openly talk about it YET!!!!!

Jonathon:

What Jazz piece are you using on your video very cool !!!!!!

Also

Frank Sinatra was a BIG and Serious O-Gauge train collector and model railroader. After he died TomMcComas of "I Love Toy Trains" fame got an invite to his estate and was able to filmthe whole layout and all of his collection.

My nine year old loves it !! Also the layout and stories of Mandy Patinkin are NOT TO BE MISSED> He was in the film "Princess Bride" "You killed my Father Prepare to Die". Great layout LOTS of stories he is awesome !!!!

Doneldon

Thanks for all the info!!! I loved Meigs Field. When I was an EMT I had befriended a couple Ambulence Helicopter Pilots and had the exciting chance to fly to Meigs a few times. Great airport, great people and the best coffee for an airport.I loved that place.

We live 50 miles from Chicago in Indiana I'll have to check to see if the Civil War Museam is at the Historical Society now.

Thanks

I have given up on History Channel. Used to be pretty good not very many good historical shows like they used to. Military Channel is pretty good except when they run British productions that give the impression the British pretty much won the Second World War with a LITTLE help from the Yanks.
