We don't know yet.
It seems they corrected their mistakes on the large scale models, however.

Boco sadly had his last use on the set in series 5.
Since then, he's only been seen in magazine stories, his TV model hasn't been CGI'd, so it is highly possible that he won't be making a comeback to the stories anytime soon, and I'm afraid that goes for other classic characters too. I've watched most of the episodes up to Series 15, and a lot of characters seem to have been sent packing.
Daisy however, was seen briefly in Calling All Engines, but i think that was the last time her model was used for that particular feature-length special. Again, a lot of the classic characters have not seen signs of coming back.
Quote from: TheNewLittleEngine on February 13, 2012, 04:34:18 AMYeah, good thing I got a model of Bear last year along with D261/The Diesel in which Bear was discontinued at the time!
I'm not sure if it has been discontinued or not. We shall find out later on. Onto another topic, who has noticed that Hornby has brought back their model of Bear?

Also remember that the season 12 faces on the models were dramatically altered when making the full CGI switch. For example, Arry and Bert's season 12 faces were PUNY compared to their full CGI faces. Compare this photo of their season 12 faces:
...to their full CGI counterparts:
This holds true for all the other characters as well, including Thomas. Just look at this:

So, even if Bachmann does decide to use a CGI face for Duck, I'm sure it would be far better compared to the sad excuse of a face that HiT gave Duck in season 12. Though I highly doubt this will happen, ya never know what HiT will do
Quote from: Narrowgauge111 on February 09, 2012, 03:35:25 PMIt's not awfully aimated, it's quite well done. But it's the writing that needs to improves which will hopefully happen in the second half of Season 16 and for the rest ofthe Seasons to come.
has anybody seen Murdoch lately? I haven't seen any of those awful animated episodes.

Which HiTs decisions are influenced by what the fans want.
While kids may be the target audience of the show, it seems us older fans are more the target audience of the Bachmann models. That's "so."
