ALCO,
I too have been in N-SCALE since1969 as well,I have to agree with BACH-MAN, it is far easier and inexpensive to purchase some DECALS for such projects.

I would start here first

Will the upcoming Santa Fe 4-4-0 have a Funnel stack or a cylindrical stack?
My question is this, will it be a copy of the ho-scale RICHMOND 4-4-0?

I'M NOT DIGATAL SAVVY. WITH ONE E-Z COMMAND SET I CAN RUN 9 LOCOS. QUESTION: IS IT POSSIBLE TO SET UP TWO COMMAND CENTERS AND RUN 18 LOCOS.
As a reminder please remember to unlock the caps lock.

N / Re: Spectrum 2-8-0 tender coupler conversion

May I suggest MT 1128-1130's I found that 1128-1129 worked the best for this conversion.

MT 1128-1130's Are now

MT 00130012
MT 00130013
 MT 00130014

Unless you want to use a 4-8-2 tender which has a knuckle coupler and swap out the tender trucks.

TJ.. Are the 1128-1130s (00130012/13/14s) offset?  I had to do some Dremel work on the one I converted using  (I think) an 1115 0r 1116.
You have a incoming email.

I have several of these little beauties all MT equipped. May I suggest loosing one screw on the tender shown in the diagram then place the MT 1128-1130's in the coupler pocket, I found that 1128-1129 worked the best for this conversion.

N / The GE DASH8-40C Reintroduction...
June 09, 2013, 03:42:11 PM
I am curious to know how this run of BACHMANN N SCALE GE DASH 8-40C is different from the 1996 and 2003 run especially when the loco shell is overall the same? Is it that the chassis was only  improved?

Understanding that it is partially due to supply and demand.Since ATLAS has the BLW VO100 all we need now are these BALDWIN Diesels AS416, AS616, DT-6-6-2000 and a S-12.

Stationmaster12,

It depends on what version 1996 or 2003 of the DASH8-40C you're planning on purchasing, may  I suggest checking the below website first.

As for coupler that's easy MT-MICRO-TRAINS I am not sure of the MT stock number though. Now for the decoder any of them some decoders require hard wiring some are PNP -Plug and Play.
