HO / Ordering Parts:HO
February 05, 2010, 04:24:44 PM
I've noticed that when you ordder N scale parts there is a vast majority of parts to look at and I find that very useful especially considering u can buy and chassis without buying the actual whole tender, however it would be such a convenience if the HO section had that kind of selection. :(

I saw those Varney engines. There was also a very nicely assembled Varney  SP pacific with brass tender, My friends had to slowly pull me away from the table as I am a sucker for buying  sorry old kit engines.

Well I definitely wasn't going to skip that off, I'm actually glad I didn't spend my money on ready-to-run when I heard of someone selling vintage old brass and once I came across that table with all those varney and johnny english locomotives, I had died and gone to heaven. However wishing I had more money I would've bought the whole lot of them for $400

well I'm greatful for even the chance of going, this event to me is like christmas morning is to a spoiled 7 yr old. I've gone every year since I was three until now which I'm 21(minus the 2008 show I was currently going to like a boot camp)  I came out of it with more than what I expected to find spending $120 on what I would've paid $200 for on Ebay easily.

^2 Varney HO heavy consolidations from the prewar era which I so desperately need in order to kitbash this:

so this years show was an outstanding victory for me especially for the fact that its also the recession

Aaargh! I already tossed the box. the adaptors likely went with it. I didnt see anything in the box, but like Brian, I could have missed them if I wasnt looking for them. The only thing I kept was the registration card (which I still need to mail)

Are these adaptors available thru the part dept? If not, I was already planning to add my own blocks when Percy gets his face-ectomy :o

Sorry but the last thing I was expecting was a non-standard coupler height being a issue. I will definetly keep an eye out for these on future Thomas purchases.

Number one rule: NEVER TOSS THE BOX unless you have everything within it :)

the plastic gears inside have seen their last days. They have likely eaten away due to use, mine did this as well. Theres a screw through the hole in the front pilot and two screws beneath the rear pilot. This ought to open right up after that. I still near replacement gears for my loco I'm surprised the parts department cannot just ship them to me, they're like "we don't stock those"

well taking it outta the box and examining it while i was making a payment i notice that on the track the driver sets weren't flush on the rails like the rear drivers were making the front ones touch the rail much and i saw this, and knowing what can be accomplished with a simple disassembly, i might be able to return this locommotive back to operating standards in a matter of minutes. Cannot wait to show off that bad boy this winter :D

HO / 2-6-6-2 rear drivers/2-10-2 gears
September 30, 2009, 03:05:08 PM
hey guys,

i recently downpayed for a new spectrum 2-6-6-2(my hobby shop lets me down-pay for locos and other helpful things in this harsh economy) and since its the only model in the shop theres something wrong with it when test. Its one of the newer ones with DCC and sound and its brand new in the box however the rear drivers on it dont work? I was wondering if any of you guys might know the problem so I can fix it when I've fully paid for it.

And one more thing for the Bach-man: considering an american spectrum 2-10-2, the plastic gears for the motorization have worn down, I tried contacting service department and they said they have no spare parts for this.

They told me to send it in but I don't want to ship this thing away because of the massive work I've done to its restoration(it was a used model from GG) and it runs free without the tender because I had to rewire it. As well as the fact I can't afford to ship it :(

I called NWSL to see if they could make it and I don't want to wait forever for new gears to come in.

I need my roster together for self-volunteer'd christmas Display I do every year here in Bristol Connecticut at rockwell park for the holidays

any help would be much appreciated :)

Thankss
