ACETONE WORKED!   It can be used to remove engineers from LGB Cabs, thank you SLeeping Bear, and all of you for all your ideas, it was appreciated.

If anyone is going to remove engineers from LGB Cabs, paint the the bottom with acetone, requires several coats (and Don't let it Dry), then rock the engineer left or right, not forward or backward as this will break him off above the feet.  Now the next problem is getting the glue off the deck as acetone softens it but doesn't remove it.   Thanks again - Old John

Again, Thank You All for your input,  I'll try the acetone first, and then just chisel away!

Thank You - Old John

Jeff,

Thank you, your observations were what I thought, but I was hoping someone out there had a secret formula that would help me to remove a couple of figures from some LGB locomotives, Thank You for your response.

Has anyone had any success removing factory glued Engineers from their cab floors without cutting them out? Anyway to "unbond" the glue?

Wade,

There is a set of plans on file in the US Patent Office, when the Climax Class A was first patented, it includes gear trains to the axles, bearing carriers, but no much on the piston assembly other than front and side views, same for the boiler.  Western Scale Models makes a boiler kit that is a dead ringer for the Class A boiler, a Bachmann can motor for the 4-4-0, 2-6-0, 4-6-0, or 2-8-0 will all fit inside the Western Scale Model boiler and you can used Pharma slot racing car gears to replicate the drive train as shown on the Patent.  Sorry I don't know the Patent number.

Dave,

They are most likely LGB, early on they came out with all plastic spoke wheels for their "European" short wheel based rolling stock and later came out with the metal rim plastic spoke wheels.  They are still available as replacements for the earlier cars.  I bought a box from Watts a year ago - very pricey.

Has anyone thought of the turnout size?  My 2 Annie's do not like the smaller #4 Aristocraft or LGB Turnouts. The only #4 they will take, are the Old Pullman Turnouts.

Yardmaster,

Will the Parts Department be carrying the new metal gear and driver axle assembly as an available part in the near future?

MicroMark sells a spring assortment for about $8, I've used springs from the assortment to fix s broken springs on  an Accucraft engine, also have found many other uses around the house.

Does anyone have an idea as to how to match the yellow on the Annie 4-6-0 Bumble Bee?
